AI in Digital Transformation Era

Traditional IT systems and operations are facing great difficulty in keeping their lights on. IT operators faced several challenges as they could not address the requirements of the current business trends. The IT team had to deal with operational bottlenecks majorly caused by the legacy IT environment. The IT systems were not able to process data accurately and get precise inference from them. Processing data incorrectly can affect the business to a great extent. There will be a high operational cost to maintain the re-checking of data and IT system. And also, no proper decisions were made by the IT operators. All of these led to a scenario where the productivity of the entire system was being affected. This is an unacceptable situation and should effectively be taken care of. This is where the advancement of digital transformation can help.

The Era of Digital Transformation:

Digital transformation is the integration of digital technology into all areas of a business. The upcome of digital transformation took over IT organizations to a whole new level. Most IT organizations widely accept the adoption of digital transformation as CIOs understood the potential benefits. The era brought in the use of more modern technology, and also the adoption of the cloud era also took place. The use of modern applications and resources helped the business to grow more. Some of the significant benefits of the digital era are: Enriched data collection: Data collection is a primary problem faced by most IT operators in the traditional system. Digital transformation helps in collecting and correlating the appropriate data for business benefits. More resource utilization: With the upcome of the digital transformation, enhanced modern technology came into use. This adoption helped businesses to grow more and become competitive. Improved Customer Experience: Traditional IT systems and businesses were not able to address the customer needs accurately. There were a lot of issues and challenges. But, with the digital era, customer challenges were addressed effectively.

But with all these benefits, the digital transformation did not bring much light to IT organizations. There was a lot of setback with the adoption. Even though data collection was enriched in the digital era, IT systems could not handle and process the large volume and variety of data. With a high number of resources and a shift to the cloud era, things went a little out of hand. IT operators could not process all these data and understand any unknown issues in the system. This affected the monitoring process. IT operators faced difficulty in monitoring the entire system. This is where Artificial Intelligence took its place in digital transformation.

AI-driven Digital Transformation:

Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to become the game-changer. A study shows that 98 percent of respondents who had leveraged AI for their digital transformation reported that it helped generate additional revenue for their organizations. Also, a study revealed that machine learning has the most significant impact on digital transformation by drastically reducing the average time spent on day-to-day activities and improving decision-making while minimizing room for errors. AI was at a discovery state, and with the up come of deep learning and machine learning, most CIOs understood the potential benefit all of these technologies hold for the IT organization. The revolutionary change AI brought in the digital era is the data management process. AI-based models were capable enough to ingest a large volume of structured and unstructured data and provide real-time analysis. Based on this analysis, any unknown issues or anomalies will be easily detected by the models. Once the models intelligently detect these anomalies, the system will automatically and proactively alert the IT operators to take action to remediate the issues. In this way, in the digital transformation era, data management won't even be a concern for the IT operators. Moreover, the entire traditional monitoring system got completely shifted to AI-based observability. With the implementation of AI-based observability, the entire IT resources and other IT components were observed in a unified manner that ensured the proper resource utilization and resource management.

AI in the digital era brought a tremendous change to entire IT operations. Automating most IT tasks with the implementation of AIOps enabled the IT operators to focus more on other development activities and eventually helped the business reduce operational costs. A study by Forrester says that 71 percent of respondents reported that AI could improve business efficiency, while 59 percent said that it could enhance scalability.
