AIOps adoption roadmap your tool to accelerate the transformation

When trying to determine how AIOps platforms are transforming the IT industry, start by looking at the evolution of IT infrastructure over the past decade. The amount of services and applications upcoming is also high and moreover the reliance on cloud platform is also increasing drastically. Coping up with this change is a real need and a great struggle. Traditional IT operations management (ITOM) approaches simply can’t keep pace. Some of the major challenges that surfaced were managing the enterprise as a whole, monitoring the working of the environment, managing the continuous changing data and many more. With all these challenges, coping up with the current trends and requirements was a really challenging task.

In order to keep up, the underlying infrastructure has to adapt by upgrading legacy systems, which is the movement from the traditional IT system to a new era of transformation, that is, to a new normal. It is in addressing these challenges that Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) has the potential to revolutionize the IT industry. The right time has come to act with the required changes. Originally known as algorithmic intelligence for IT operations, AIOps capabilities are transforming Traditional IT Operations Management (ITOM) to a new era of operations, where it completely revolve around Artificial Intelligence(AI).

AIOps:

AIOPs is applying machine learning, analytics, and artificial intelligence on large amount of data automatically discover and react to potential issues in real-time. AIOps platforms consume and analyze the increasing volume, variety and velocity of data generated by IT and present it in a more meaningful and useful way.IT leaders are enthusiastic about the promise of applying AI to IT operations.

Digital transformation offers a recital in long-term benefits and in long run, but along with this emerges the complexity it can bring to IT infrastructure. IT operations teams are rapidly adopting and evolving around AIOps solutions which helps them to manage or tackle these complexities very effectively. With emerge in AIOps and knowing the benefits it bring to IT system, definitely AIOps is gonna hit the long run. Gartner believes that the impact of AIOps is gonna be in long term and which is going to be transformative. Gartner predicts that large enterprise exclusive use of AIOps and digital experience monitoring tools to monitor applications and infrastructure will rise from 5% in 2018 to 30% in 2023.

Five Stages of AIOps:

Lets look into this roadmap of AIOps in 5 different perspective:

Reactive Stage:

The reactive stage or more like the starting stage of AIOps in any organization. Any IT organization working with traditional monitoring tools are usually working in the reactive stage. The IT team receives thousands of events every day from the chatty monitoring tools and struggles to figure out where to focus. Most IT teams will find it difficult in progressing as they have to figure out and understand a lot of data to get a proper outcome. This slow work in progress will eventually affect the entire IT system. Reactive stage of will never work for any IT system in this era of digital transformation.

Proactive stage:

The proactive stage, as the name itself says, PRO-ACTIVE, act quickly before something happens. AIOps helps in achieving this pro-active methodology. In this competitive environment, it is no longer enough to respond to actual events. Its now time where we can predict issue and bottlenecks before hand. In this level, AIOps tools and processes can quickly determine the root cause and notify the IT operations team. This will help the IT operations team to take quick action before the problem is noticed by the end-users. Also, it reduces the impact on business operations.

Predictive stage:

This is the third level, the predictive stage. This stage comes with more analytics to foresee future events like service outage or infrastructure capacity exhaustion with a high degree of probability. An AIOps platform provides predictive recommendations to the IT operations team to minimize or eliminate business impacts. Also provides the ability to monitor the health or status of the organization so that you can predict and respond to outages. The ability to prevent failures before they happen is a bigger green flag wave for any IT system.

Perspective stage:

IT organizations at this prescriptive level can get prescriptive recommendations from the AIOps systems and can make better and faster-informed decisions. This will enable them to be a better agile organization to deal with the fast-moving business requirements with the highest level of efficiency.

Automative Stage:

The automated IT organization can leverage an advanced AIOps platform that can provide resource optimization and auto-remediation recommendations to the automation platform based on AI-based analytics and keep the system up and running without much human intervention. AIOps hits a big wave in the automative stage. The automative stage helps in business to make efficient data processing and better decision making to. Much more, it helps in the speed tracking of digital transformation.

The roadmap of AIOps comes with an end in the automative stage. By this, any organization that adapts to the AIOps enable the capability of bringing their organization to complete Zero-Touch Automation.
